When I think back through my life and especially the times of deepest struggle, the people who were the most helpful to me were my godly parents and godly women. My doctors wanted me to see professional secular counsellors or to give me extra medication. However, the godly people in my life (teachers, youth leaders, etc.) were the blessing God sent me so that I could see that I could survive even when life seemed unbearable. These older people could see my hurt when my peers could not or were too immature in their own faith to encourage. That hard time was huge in my spiritual growth. May we be those who can now minister to those around us who are hurting and need hope! Excellent points!
