Cleaning my house is truly not a job that I enjoy and I find that a million other things tend to take priority over cleaning in my mind. I can stay pretty organized, but the dishes, toilets, etc. tend to stay on the back burner. I really enjoyed your elaborations as well as the commenters before me - some great suggestions to help my heart be in the right place. I definitely think playing worship music when I'm working will help! I can actually find joy in scrubbing the kitchen floor when I put on the praise music, praise God, and think about the blessing this is to my hubby. God cares about our hearts, and He wants us to do these chores with obedience and love. I certainly fail at this often, so this was a great reminder to place my focus off of myself and onto others! It makes the work easier, so I don't know why I don't give this more effort! Thank you! Our daughters will see the example of what they will be expected to do, and our sons will see what they ought to look for in a future spouse. I have also found that our childrens' friends like being in homes that are orderly. My son has a friend whose house is always a mess; they always end up here. I still have a long way to go to be a good housekeeper, but our house is not chaotic ... for the most part ... :-) Having an orderly house makes our company feel comfortable, like they aren't intruding, like we have been expecting them. Not only does keeping the home orderly fulfill our role as wives, but it is a good example for our kids. I really desire to make our home more peaceful and organized. I have found that being a SAHM there are many good opportunities that come my way that I could fill my time with, but I have had to learn to say 'no' at times to care for my family and home.
